New Rural Project (NRP) is a 501(c)(4) organization that engages young (18 - 40 years old) and historically marginalized residents in rural communities to amplify their voices through increased civic and electoral engagement. NRP works to eliminate barriers to engagement by listening to rural stakeholders and working together to develop community-driven solutions. Our work is focused on the seven counties - Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, Robeson, Hoke and Moore - along the North Carolina border with South Carolina.

NRP is hiring deep canvassers for its 2023 voter engagement program. Canvassers will be responsible for understanding the barriers that folks have had to voting and for helping to increase voter participation of Black, LatinX, and Native American infrequent voters in the 2023 Municipal election. You won't be tied to a desk. You'll meet lots of people, and you'll make change happen at the grassroots level. Ideal candidates will be highly organized and accountable self-starters who thrive on person-to-person contact and bring a sense of humor and fun to their work.
NRP is hiring a motivated and experienced Organizing Director to promote and manage its civic and electoral engagement programs in the focus counties of Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, Moore, Hoke, and Robeson Counties. The Organizing Director will be responsible for designing, managing, implementing, and executing NRP’s multi-county field program.
