New Rural Project (NRP) is a 501(c)(4) organization that engages young (18 - 40 years old) and historically marginalized residents in rural communities to amplify their voices through increased civic and electoral engagement. NRP works to eliminate barriers to engagement by listening to rural stakeholders and working together to develop community-driven solutions. Our work is focused on the seven counties - Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, Robeson, Hoke, and Moore - along the North Carolina border with South Carolina.

Finance and Operations Director
NRP is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and motivated Finance and Operations Director. NRP prefers that the Finance and Operations Director reside in one of the focus counties (Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, Robeson, Hoke, and Moore) or a neighboring county like Mecklenburg. The Finance and Operations Director will oversee all NRP’s key systems including financial management, human resources, and general operations ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies to support NRP’s mission.
Regional Organizing Director
NRP is seeking a highly motivated Regional Organizing Director to promote its civic and electoral engagement programs in the focus counties of Union, Anson, and Richmond Counties. NRP requires that the Regional Organizing Director live in one of the focus counties or a neighboring county (i.e. Mecklenburg). They must be able to travel daily as needed within the focus counties. The priority of this role is to ensure that grassroots leaders and community stakeholders are supported in driving long-term rural base-building work through civic and electoral engagement.
NRP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Policy and Program Director to supervise a wide range of civic and electoral engagement programs in our focus counties. The Policy and Program Director must reside in one of the focus counties (Union, Anson, Richmond, Scotland, Robeson, Hoke, and Moore) or a neighboring county and be able to travel daily as needed within these areas. This role involves advancing our mission through strategic policy analysis, advocacy, and program development.
NRP seeks multiple part-time, temporary paid canvassers to join our team for the 2024 Election Cycle. Canvassers will help increase the participation of Black, LatinX, and Native American infrequent voters in the 2024 General election.
