Endorsements

The New Rural Project team spent several months developing, reviewing, and voting on endorsements for the 2026 General Election. We chose to focus on a limited number of key races, guided by what rural North Carolinians have shared through polling, front-porch conversations, barbershop and beauty salon conversations (FADE & CURLS), and community engagement.

Candidates from all parties were invited to complete our endorsement questionnaire. The candidates we endorsed demonstrated a clear commitment to and deep respect for rural North Carolina.
