Melvin Ingram
Melvin Ingram is a member of the Richmond County Schools Executive Leadership Team and holds the position of Assistant Superintendent of Safety & Support Services.
Melvin is a graduate of Richmond County schools and graduated Summa Cum Laude from North Carolina Central University. He continued his education at East Carolina University, earning a Master’s Degree in School Administration and Curriculum Supervision and later added an Education Specialist (Ed. S) from Wingate University to his license.
Melvin began his career in education in 1997 as a teacher at Parkwood Elementary School in Durham. In 2000, he returned to Richmond County and taught at West Rockingham Elementary until 2003 when he was promoted to Assistant Principal at Washington Street Elementary. After 2 years, he was named Principal at the former Hoffman Elementary School until it closed and he was transferred to Ellerbe Middle School. He was named Richmond County Principal of the Year in 2015-2016 before accepting his current role on the Richmond County Schools Executive Leadership Team.
