
Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant must be available to work Monday through Friday during daytime hours. There is some flexibility in scheduling and work may require evenings and weekends. The need for accuracy, confidentiality, discretion, and effective utilization of routines is high.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordinate internal meetings and external events, including attendee management, materials preparation and printing, event logistics, room set-up, meals, and issue resolution

Take notes in meetings ensuring that proper follow-up and deliverables are calendared and kept on task

Provide comprehensive support services to the Executive Director that ensures outstanding communication and responsiveness including scheduling meetings and responding to emails

Maintain office supplies and inventory, manage vendor relationships, and order necessary materials.

Manage & monitor NRP general email accounts and check NRP PO box weekly in Charlotte (Mecklenburg County)

Manage telecom services including Google phone messages, order data plans for wifi hotspots at remote offices, order mobile phones for canvassers

Purchase office supplies, merchandise, field supplies and logo apparel

Perform general administrative support including coordinating shipment of materials to staff, board members, donors, and others as needed

Support special projects and organizational initiatives as assigned by the Executive Director

Experience and Qualifications

The ideal candidate is highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Commitment to the mission, vision and values of New Rural Project

3 years of work-related experience including administrative and project management

Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize projects

High level of attention to detail, and creative problem-solving abilities

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to take initiative, multi-task, and be a team-player
-
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy

Ability to function independently but with high degree of coordination and communication

Valid Driver’s License

A background check is required for this position
Compensation and Expectations
This is a part-time, non-exempt position, up to 30 hours per week. Position is primarily remote, but does require in person meetings at office locations in Anson and/or Union counties.
